Ebeltoft

Djursland - the nose of Jutland - offers a wide variety of excursion spots and activities. The coasts are famous for their fine angling conditions and many places you find wonderful child-friendly sand beaches. Djursland is also known for the beautiful landscape with old manors and large old beech forests.

Ebeltoft
Ebeltoft was granted a municipal charter more than 700 years ago and the city is even older. The town hall is from 1576. A stroll along the bricked streets with the old houses gives you a true feeling of life in a small Danish town of the 17th and 18th century. The Frigate Jylland which is docked in Ebeltoft is the longest wooden ship in the World. It was finished in 1860 as a steam screw frigate with sails. A new museum for the ship was inaugurated in 2005.

Gorgeous Landscape
Mols and Helgenæs offer a gorgeous undulating landscape with winding roads, several old houses, perfect fishing and bathing waters, and cycling and walking tracks, a rich fauna and innumerable monuments of antiquity. Mols Bjerge is preserved and selected to become one of Denmark's 5 - 7 national parks. The National Forest and Nature Agency has published a number of pamphlets of walking tours in the area.

Lots of activities
Zoo in Ebeltoft, the animal park Skandinavisk Dyrepark near Kolind, Djurs Sommerland , the Shark Centre in Grenå, the Danish Museum of Agriculture and the Manor House Museum near Auning, Randers Tropical Rainforest, and the city of Aarhus with soccer at top level, World-class handball, the festival Aarhus Festuge, music house, Aarhus Cathedral - perhaps the oldest church in Denmark - are just a few of the excursion spots you could visit.

Trips
You can take a 1-day trip to Copenhagen, to the unique Danish island Anholt or to Varberg in Sweden. Legoland can be reached by car in approx. 2 hours and the German/Danish border in less than 3 hours.
