Inlet and inshore fishing
Inlet fishing
The special characteristic of inlet fishing is that there are saltwater fish as well as brackish water fish. Far into the inlets, the water is more fresh because of outflow from streams and trenches, but the water becomes more salty, the further you move towards the inlet opening, and this provides good possibilities for catching many different types of fish.
Fishing spots along the coast
There are plenty of great fishing spots along the coast, if you want to catch flatfish, trout, garfish or eel. Season and current conditions determine which spots are the best, and therefore, it is a good idea to try a new place, if you have not caught any fish after an hour.
Fishing from a boat or a dinghy
The inner Danish waters are easy to sail in, if you would like to make an attempt to steer a boat, and it is also possible to rent, if you do not want to bring your own boat. A boat makes it possible to fish in a larger area, and you can bring more equipment that if you have to carry it on land.
Safety at sea
If you sail out alone, you have to remember to check weather and water conditions, before you sail. You should also inform family or friends about where you are going and when you expect to be back. Remember to call, if you are late.
