Blokhus

Vandring langs havetBoern i gummibaad

Blokhus was originaly a fishing hamlet, but today it is a pulsating holiday town with exiting attractions and endless sandy beaches with fine sand, marvellous belts of white dunes and tempting clearblue water. And not only the water is blue - the beaches have all been awarded with the Blue Flag, which guarantees that the bathing water is of a good quality and that the facilities at the beach are in order. The beaches are therefore the natural venue for both locals and visitors - a perfect place to relax, play, build sand castles or just to bask in the sun.

If the North Sea gets too cold for bathing, you can visit Danland Blokhus with its subtropical aquapark, where you will find a 40 m long water slide, children's pool, jacuzzi, sauna and wellness centre. The perfect place for those who take water like a duck.

When the sun sets, and the summernight falls over the North Sea, Blokhus provides good opportunes for shopping, restaurants and amusement - visit i.e. Beach Bowl with bowling alleys, pool tables, air hockey, gambling machines and restaurants.

The dunes of shifting sands behind the town and the beach - in Hune and Kryle Klit - offer a scenic and varied landscape characterized by tranquil forest, dune and moor and a rich and interesting animal life. This recreative area is very attractive and offers good opportunities for activities like tennis, golf, bicycle rides, fishing or riding. As a late summer activity we recommend mycologists to visit this realm of nature.

The church in Hune was close to share the fate of the church in Skagen, which was buried in sand about the age 1500. A sand drift impoverished the parish of Hune, but due to an extensive restoration and reparation in the seventeenth century the church narrowly escaped.

In other words Blokhus has a variety of activities for all members of your family! Whatever you choose, Blokhus gives you a hearty welcome!
