Grønhøj

Udsigt fra klitMaarup Kirke

Grønhøj is situated to the north of the reserve "Lille Norge". The nature is - like the other destinations in the Jammerbugt - omnipresent and fascinating. Grønhøj is close to attractions like for instance "Rubjerg Knude" with its old, disused lighthouse on the high-lying cliff towards the sea.

Also Mårup Kirke (the church of Mårup) is worth a visit. In the churchyard you can feel how the sea has influated on humans and buildings. The sea is rapidly approaching the church, and the big anchor in front of the church shows, that the sea is, and always will be, a part of life here - with all its good or bad qualities!

Many families have Grønhøj as their favorite. The world of nature is at your front door, offering to take you out. Bring your packed lunch and a pilgrim's staff, and you will experience an undulating landscape with forest, sea and dune plantation.

If you prefer a bask in the sun, bring your sunblock and enjoy one of Denmark's most lovely and widest sandy beaches with Blue Flag.
