Rødhus

The beautiful Rødhus is situated only 7 km south of Blokhus in the immediate vicinity of the beach and the sea. The interminable open spaces, old dune plantations, wide sandy beaches and the marvellous nature make you sound in mind and body. If you feel like leaving your holiday home - which by the way is built in harmony with the old moorland - you will find both Rødhus and its surroundings very eventful. 

By way of example you will find a variety of marked out walking tracks in the area. If you - on your way through fields and plantations - find sea shells or amber, it might be remains of The Littorina Sea. The area of Rødhus is raised seabed from the Stone Age about 7000 years ago!

You can also pay a visit to the Galleri Rødhusgaarden with exhibitions of Danish art within the areas of artistic glassware, ceramic ware, oil painting, sculpture and jewels. Or you can visit the church of Rødhus, built in 1913, which always takes away the breaths of its visitors with its intimate atmosphere caused by the candle lights.
